Is Your Inner Masculine Supporting Your Inner Feminine?
What it looks like when your inner masculine & inner feminine are in balance.
The steady pillar candle is your Inner Masculine supporting the radiant flame of your Inner Feminine.
My husband Russ and I hosted a private healing retreat last weekend for a wonderful guy, who I’ll call Chris. The intentions he brought into ceremony are things I hear women say all the time:
✧ “I want to stop overthinking & being anxious so that I can enjoy life.”
✧ “I want to stop being a people pleaser and trust myself.”
✧ “I just want to let myself cry.”
While my focus is on supporting women to be their authentic radiant selves & vessels for the Divine Feminine, I believe men have an important role to play as well.
The patriarchy appears to benefit men. Men are treated as the most powerful and important gender. But they’re suffering too. We’re all out of balance. We’re encouraged to emphasize our masculine energy - ambitious, goal-oriented and driven - while we suppress our feminine energy - which is joyful, expansive, creative, expressive and pleasurable.
So we end up like Chris - with an injured, overactive inner masculine and a repressed inner feminine.
Overactive inner masculine = overthinking & anxiety
If you find that you’re constantly up in your head, trying to figure everything out with your mind, this is a sign of an overactive inner masculine. We think: “If I can think of every single thing, I’ll be safe and protected.” That’s a lot to put on your mind - which is meant to receive input from your body and emotions.
Injured inner masculine = people pleasing & lack of self trust
Your inner masculine is meant to instill confidence in your sense of self and create a strong sense of self worth. When we disrespect the masculine within ourselves, we don’t hold our own boundaries and we can also overstep other people’s boundaries.
Suppressed feminine = not safe to express emotions
In the patriarchy, we’re taught to bypass our own feelings and get to work! If we cry, we’re “too sensitive.” Chris was so relieved to have a safe space to let the tears flow in ceremony. Emotions are energy in motion. If we don’t move them, they stay stuck on our bodies.
🕯️🕯️🕯️
The way it’s supposed to work is… your Inner Feminine, your infinite potential, says: “I’m inspired! I have a great idea!” Your Inner Masculine, who is devotion, structure & confidence responds: “What do I need to provide to make this happen?”
Our Inner Feminine and Inner Masculine need to be in unity for us to feel balanced, creative and supported. Women and men need to be in unity for our world to be balanced and to support the creation of the world we want to see.
It’s a process to get there. It requires de-programming and healing ourselves so we open up to new habits, new perspectives and new ways of showing up.
Chris left Taos saying - “I feel like I finally let go of the pain and can actually feel joy.” If you’d like some help with this, it would be my honor to support you at a private retreat or in my online transformational program for women From Suppression to Expression of Your Feminine Radiance.
