Enjoy the journey vs. just getting to the goal
Spontaneous hot air balloon ride
over the Rio Grande Gorge!
This is one of the benefits of living in the small town of Taos, NM. My husband Russ and I know the guy who owns the local balloon company, and he invited us to join for free.
I almost said “no” to the last minute invite. I had a long to-do list for that day.
But I’m training myself to focus on my feminine qualities: feeling, intuiting, being inspired - not just being productive. Enjoying the journey, not just getting to the goal.
Your masculine qualities are important - doing, focusing, taking action. But your masculine and feminine need to be in balance. If you’re like most people in our society, you’ve been trained to over-emphasize the masculine.
A super easy practice to embody your Feminine BE-ing
Here’s an easy daily practice: sit and do nothing for 5+ minutes a day. I’m serious. This sounds so simple, but it’s actually quite a powerful way to reclaim your nervous system.
This isn’t about doing meditation. It’s about teaching your body that it’s OK to be still. To just BE. To bask in stillness.
The belief that there isn’t enough time, that we need to rush and pack it all in, is a form of anxiety that we hold in our nervous systems. Being in the rat race & on the hamster wheel is a perpetual state of lack. (We aren’t rodents!)
This simple practice can help you return to a baseline of feeling peace in your body.
A Sneak Peak… Exciting news!
I spent last week in a “creation retreat” with my medicine sister Helen Knight to design an online course for women.
It will have a shamanic essence: with different plant medicines, rituals, healings and ceremonies so that you go from body shame to body love, self-doubt to self-trust, suppression to full expression and a lot more!
Helen and I are making a point to practice what we preach - balancing our inner masculine and feminine energies.
We kicked off each retreat day by dancing to get into our bodies and to connect to our feminine flow. Then we called in our guides and worked with sacred tobacco called rapé.
That supported us to blend our feminine with our masculine energy - the active aspect - to focus and to make decisions guided by love and intuition.
These two energies - masculine & feminine - are meant to manifest within you as one. This way you’re living and taking action from a place of connection and abundance.
More to come!
