Try This to Make Your Womb Happy

Every morning for the past few weeks, I’ve spent some time sitting in silence, looking at a photo of my mom. I call it Mom Gazing. Why would I do this??

Well, this practice comes from a teacher, an Indian saint whose mission was to elevate the human condition through reconnection with the Divine Mother.

He taught that this starts with reconnection to your own mother.

The practice is simple. You sit quietly as you look at a photo of your mother.  Think loving and grateful thoughts about her. Forgive her. Ask for forgiveness. And thank her.

Mom Gazing empowers your own womb chakra by connection through your mother’s womb to the Divine Mother’s Womb.

I’ve already done a lot of work on my Mother Wound - especially as a Family Constellations facilitator.

But now my relationship with my mom is shifting dramatically. She died in 1993 when she was 51 years old. I’m 54 now. Perhaps because, in a way, I feel like she and I are the same age, there’s something magical that’s happening as I connect with her.

I see her as my partner, my ally and my confidant.  Sometimes while Mom Gazing, I have conversations with her in my head - asking her to support me, letting her know that I understand her.

If you want to try this, it’s important to commit for 21 days. And if you miss a day, you have to start over!

Here are the instructions:

  • Give yourself about 15 minutes daily (I do 12 minutes)

  • Choose a photo of your mother - where her eyes are looking at the camera. Use a photo of her as an adult vs. her as a child.

  • Connect with her in a relaxed state.

  • Think about your childhood and thank her. Feel forgiveness and ask for forgiveness.

  • When you feel like your heart is open, bow before her with your head to the ground and thank her for giving birth to you.

I like to say the Ho’opono’pono prayer as I’m bowing: I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.

If you try it, I’d love to hear what shifts for you.

If you feel like you’re carrying family baggage or ancestral trauma that’s causing you suffering, Family Constellations - and my creation for women’s issues, Womb Constellations - reveal and resolve unconscious entanglements and connections that you wouldn’t be aware of otherwise, so that you can be free of the past and live fully in the present.
